They say that necessity is the mother of invention. I can certainly say that was the case for the creation of Big Game Air.
The concept for Big Game Air came about shortly before my wife and I had our first child. I wanted to attend a Michigan football game at Iowa, but my wife didn’t want me leaving her alone with our newborn baby overnight.
A diehard Wolverine fan since my childhood growing up in Lansing, Mich., I always try to find a way to catch my favorite team in person at least once a year.
So, I did what any other loving husband and college sports fan would do … I felt the temperature in the room and asked her one more time what it would take for me to go to the game (which was a highly-anticipated Top 25 matchup).
My wife told me the only way I could attend was if I left that day and returned that night.
I told her to give me a few hours to see what I could do.
She rolled her eyes and said “good luck.”
As those words rolled off her tongue, I already had a plan formulating in the back of my mind. I called my friend Todd, who I knew had a lot of aviation knowledge, and after some research and planning, we booked a private jet and boarded the plane with a group of our buddies to see the game.
We arrived home 12 hours later. Everyone agreed it was a great experience (even though Michigan lost on a last-second field goal), and we knew we had an exciting and unique opportunity on our hands, which set Big Game Air in motion.

Something that has always stuck with me from a very young age was the concept of “seek and you shall find.”
For me, building and launching Big Game Air has been tied to strong pursuit of finding purpose and happiness. I’ve always had a strong entrepreneurial drive and the thought of exploring new ideas and industries was tugging at me.
The idea of building new culture and a brand from scratch is something I’m very passionate about. It has been and always will be very important to me that any venture I work on provides something of value and translatable to consumers, and I think that Big Game Air will provide a luxury travel experience, while also saving consumers a considerable amount of travel time. Time, after all, is our most valued commodity.
I have been fortunate to assemble an amazing group of partners and employees to launch this venture. As always, I think it was very important to find people who are experts in their particular area. This project required me to find teammates that were strong in Sports Marketing, Technology, Operations, Digital Marketing and Hospitality.
We have an ambitious outlook for BGA, which has all the pieces to become something special. Our team is fully aware of the demands this company will have and everyone is prepared to put in the work.
At this stage of my life I do value life balance but I also love to work hard on things that I’m passionate about. I am extremely passionate about Big Game Air and hope that soon you will be too.
Best,
Arturo Gomez
